Hello World, I'm Colton. Professionally I'm a Data Engineer, but I have been working in web development on the side off and on for a bit. Have a look around my site to see projects in both fields!

A little bit about me:

Not much to say that hasn't been said. I am based in the Bay Area, and therefore am surrounded by tech. I started dabling in code after I took a Python class in college, and have been writing varrying levels of Python/SQL for work since about 2018. I am currently a Data Engineer, but I like to think my professional skillset also includes a bit of Analytics Engineering and even BI Engineering. Basically, I am all about making data useful and accessible to everyone in an organization. For more about my professional experience, check out my LinkedIn.

When I'm not busy, I like to go hiking, biking, and camping. It sounds great, but usually I get too scared at night, and decide one or two nights are enough. Ideally, these things will end up in the blog portion of this site (along with general updates and some technical writing) when (if) I get around to writing posts.

Projects:

I have several completed (or at least mostly completed) projects to show off. Since they're fairly diverse I figured they'd work best on individual pages. There are full-stack projects, JAMstack projects, Data analytics and visualization projects. Heck, I even have some scripts and miscellaneous other stuff I wrote that I thought would be fun to showcase instead of having them hidden deep in GitHub.

Most projects are public, feel free to look at the commits and the raw code for them. However, once in a while there will be a live project that is a private repo. Don't feel offended, some projects are best kept private for various reasons or no particular reason at all. Besides, the code is probably boring anyways, I'm sure you aren't missing much.

The projects here will be updated on an ongoing basis, at least ideally. When I finish a new one it might replace an old one or it might join the others. Check back regularly for new projects and updates.
